A police helicopter was drafted during a dramatic motorbike chase through the streets of Edinburgh.
A man has now been detained by officers in connection with a variety of alleged road traffic offences after being nicked in the Dalkeith area on Thursday.
The force shared an image from the camera on board their dedicated police helicopter which monitored the pursuit from above.
Police Scotland’s Air Unit tweeted: “Police helicopter assisted Police Scotland Road Policing Unit and Lothian and Borders Police Division during a pursuit involving a motorbike near Dalkeith earlier today.
“Motorbike followed by the helicopter result in one male being apprehended for various road traffic offences.”
A tracker onboard the aircraft showed it flying over large swathes of the capital including Niddrie, Brunstane, Portobello, Newcraighall and Danderhall at around 4pm.
