Dramatic moment police arrest nine people over drugs after morning raids

Police made nine arrests after two drug raids in Runcorn.

Officers executed the warrants at two addresses on Thorn Road at around 10am on Wednesday.

A Cheshire Constabulary spokesman said they seized a quantity of what is believed to be Class A drugs from the properties.

A 52-year-old man from Runcorn was arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug with intent to supply.

Six other men from Runcorn – aged 18, 22, 30, 45, 46 and 52 – a 41-year-old man from Warrington and a 33-year-old woman from Elton were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

They have all been released under investigation.

The specific type of drug discovered is yet to be confirmed.

A forensics van and separate police van were at the scene when the ECHO visited the scene.
