This was the moment a 4x4 car had to be pulled out the mud after getting submerged on one of Merseyside's most popular beaches.
A tractor was brought to the scene as it was needed to haul the vehicle from its watery resting place at Ainsdale at Saturday lunchtime.
Police were not at the scene, and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service have no record of the incident, so it appears separate efforts were made to carry out the recovery.
Onlookers said a motorist was seen driving the same car along Ainsdale Beach on Friday, but that is unconfirmed.
A passerby, who recorded the video, told the ECHO: "I was out walking my dogs at lunchtime and came across this idiot who had got stuck on the beach at Ainsdale.
"He had to be pulled out by a tractor, the police were not in attendance.

"This should be a warning to others thinking of doing the same."
The incident happened at the same time when a fire was raging close by in the Ainsdale Pinewoods.
Between 9am and close to 1pm, crews battled flames in the protected nature reserve after campers, who had pitched a tent the previous night, left a fire burning.
It left considerable damage to pine trees and shrub land, and could have spread to a home and rangers' office and outbuildings if it hadn't been spotted by an eagle-eyed employee.
