Dramatic lifeboat rescue caught on camera as boy saved from rocks in Fife

Lifeboat crews plucked a teenager to safety in a daring rescue on the Fife coast.

The Anstruther RNLI crew were called to the scene near St Monans as darkness set in around 6pm on Sunday January 30.

In their second call-out of the weekend, the team quickly located the young lad who was cold and in shock stranded on rocks.

The dramatic rescue was released by the lifeboat organisation (RNLI)

He was unable to cross back to the mainland after being caught out by the rising tide.

After assessing the teen on the rocky outcrop, the team transferred him back to their base for a full check up.

Volunteer crew member Euan Hoggan scaled the rock to help the boy and commented on the rescue.

He said: "The young man was stranded on the rock for a considerable amount of time before the alarm was raised.

“We urge anyone in difficulty around the coast to dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
