The wackiest trends are sometimes the most subtle. Take, for instance, the dramatic lash. Rather than a heavy Towie falsie, that shelf of mascara that continues to make your sister’s friends look on the verge of sleep, this season saw delicate dew-drop crystals glittering on Carolina Herrera’s models’ eyes, and acres of mascara on the bottom lashes. Elsewhere, at Roberto Cavalli, they deliberately smudged the lines underneath, which made the eye look ferociously intense, and pleasingly punky.
