Dramatic images show car ablaze after being torched by yobs

Dramatic pictures captured the moment firefighters fought a car blaze in Stockbridge Village late last night.

Firefighters were called to Marled Hey shortly before 10.30pm to reports that a black VW Golf was on fire.

After putting out the blaze, Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service handed the incident over to police.

Following enquiries by officers, it is now believed the car was deliberately set alight.

A forensic examination of the scene has taken place and CCTV footage is being sought.

Police are now appealing for information after the suspected arson.
