Dramatic footage shows two cars burst into explosive fireball after crashing on Scots road as hero cop runs towards inferno

This is the dramatic moment two cars burst into an explosive fireball after crashing into each other on a Scots road.

Emergency services raced to the scene after the cars crashed on the A70 in Ayrshire, between Coylton and Coalhall.

Fire crews battled the blaze and footage from the scene shows the huge fireball as stunned onlookers watched in awe.

The inferno can be seen ahead as emergency workers and pedestrian vehicles are forced to stop further down the street.

Huge plumes of smoke can be seen billowing from the wreckage.
