Dramatic footage shows tornadoes tearing through Luxembourg and Netherlands

Dramatic footage shows tornadoes ripping across the Netherlands and Luxembourg on Friday night as severe weather swept parts of mainland Europe.

Adverse weather conditions have been wreaking havoc with people in Luxembourg and the Netherlands sharing dramatic pictures and videos of rare tornadoes.

Footage taken from onboard a boat in Amsterdam shows a tornado roaring along a body of water on Friday afternoon, as a huge dark cloud covers the sky in the background.

Authorities say around £1 million worth of damage was caused in Petange, Luxembourg, where roofs on more than 100 homes were ripped off as well as large chunks of buildings.
