Dramatic footage shows police chase and capture of dangerous driver

Police have released footage from the pursuit of a drug dealer who drove up to 80mph before a stinger brought his car to a stop.

On March 22, at 6.15pm, Timothy Glover, 32, was driving a silver Vauxhall Zafira in Southglade Road, Bestwood.

He drove through a red light and went the wrong way round bollards before fleeing the car, but was detained by officers.

Glover, of Madryn Walk, Bestwood, was searched and found to be in possession of more than £5,000 of cannabis in his car.

He appeared in Nottingham Crown Court on June 2, when he was sentenced to five years behind bars.

Glover pleaded guilty to four charges of possession with intent to supply cannabis and further charges of dangerous driving, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a driving licence.

He was also banned from driving for four-and-a-half years.

Police Constable Catherine Maunder-Green, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Glover’s dangerous driving could easily have resulted in more serious consequences as he drove at speed in an attempt to avoid police.

"He showed a blatant disregard for other road users and it's only pure luck that no-one was hurt as a result of his actions.

“Thankfully he was swiftly arrested after the car came to a stop and he is now facing the consequences for his actions.”
