Firefighters were called to the scene of a car fire in a residential area of Nottingham.
Video footage of the incident shows large flames and a crew at the scene in Cransley Avenue, Wollaton, at the corner with Ashchurch Drive.
The incident happened at around 8.48pm on Sunday, August 9.
Resident Pvail Singh, a resourcing and operation support analyst, said he had been at home watching television when he saw "a plume of black smoke" through the window and went to take a look.
The 36 year old said: "Looks like it was a car fire. The hedge also set on fire of the house.
"I was sat in my living room watching Netflix with my wife. I saw a plume of black smoke rise outside the living room window behind a house.
"I said to my wife that it looks like a house fire. She thought it was a garden fire, so I went to investigate.
"The air had a strong smell of burning plastic and chemicals. By now some residents had started gathering at the bottom of the road.
"Some standing in doorways staring at the fire. I got there before the fire engine did.
"It was a single fire engine and they put the fire out in minutes. Kudos to the emergency services."
A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said a car in the street was "well alight" and then the fire spread to hedging nearby.
There were no injuries reported.
The spokeswoman for the fire service said: “Highfields Fire Station attended a vehicle fire on Cransley Avenue, Wollaton.
"Crews were called at 20:48 to extinguish the car which was well alight.
"The fire spread to a nearby hedge and was put out at 21:13. Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet were also used.”
