Dramatic footage shows fire crews tackling Clondalkin car blaze

Firefighters in west Dublin were called to tackle a dramatic car fire on Tuesday night (August 17).

Dublin Fire Brigade attended the blaze in Clondalkin.

The service posted a video to Twitter showing fire engulfing the vehicle, and smoke billowing from the windows, as crews battled to bring the blaze under control.

A powerful jet of water was seen dousing the flames.

The brigade said: "It can take over 1,000 litres of water to extinguish a car fire. We also use foam as an extinguishing medium."

People are reminded to dial 999 or 112 in an emergency.
