Dramatic pictures and video have shown the moment flames were seen coming from a burning car near Sneinton Market.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it was called to Longden Street, near the market, to reports of a car fire.
The video, sent in to Nottinghamshire Live, shows the car was well alight when crews arrived at around 1.30am on Thursday, June 4.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "London Road attended a car fire on Longden Street, St Ann's.
"Crews used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. Nottinghamshire Police were also in attendance."
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police confirmed the force were called, to nearby Bath Street where the car was on fire, but that it was the same fire.
Nottinghamshire Police have been contacted for further information.
