Dramatic drone footage shows sheer scale of Otley flooding after River Wharfe burst its banks

Dramatic drone footage shows the true extent of floods in Leeds after the River Wharfe burst its banks.

Roads were closed in and around Otley following the floods as three flood warnings demanding that people take 'immediate action' were issued, while six 'be alert' flood alerts remain in place.

There were also 19 flood warnings issued for North Yorkshire, some of which remain in place today. Follow live updates on flooding in West and North Yorkshire here.

Water levels had risen significantly after heavy rain throughout the weekend and residents who live near the River Wharfe were urged to take action by protecting garages and front doors with sandbags.

One Otley resident said: "It looks like it is still rising too, it is very worrying. I cannot believe that this is happening again.
