A man was dramatically rescued after being found with a serious head injury off the Wirral coast.
Rescuers were called to Middle Eye close to Hilbre Islands at around 1pm on Thursday to reports the man had been hurt.
The Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team and Hazardous Area Response paramedics were all sent to help get the man to hospital.
He was treated briefly at the scene before he was taken to an ambulance.
After the man was taken away, rescuers were then called to Hilbre Island where a woman had fallen and broken the top part of her arm.
A spokesperson for the coastguard team said: "This afternoon, Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked to a man who had fallen near to Middle Eye, West Kirby suffering from a serious head injury.
"The team arrived at the rendezvous point near to Morrisons, along with North West Ambulance Service who had deployed their Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) along with an Ambulance and an Advanced Paramedic.
"With the first casualty now safely in the Ambulance, two HART Paramedics were transported to Hilbre Island in the Coastguard off road vehicle to assess the second casualty.
"With a suspected broken upper arm, pain relief was administered prior to the lady being transported ashore to a further awaiting Ambulance."

Michael Buratti, Station Officer for Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team said: “Hilbre and the surrounding smaller islands are extremely attractive to walkers however people walking to Hilbre Island should be mindful when walking across rocks which can be extremely slippery underfoot and uneven.
"We always advise when walking to Hilbre Island to check tide times and be aware of your surroundings.
"If you get into trouble whilst on or walking to Hilbre Island, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
