Dunfermline local Wendy Keith launched a fundraiser with a target of £1000 after the incident on Thursday, June 13 in a Nisa shop in the city.

CCTV footage shared online shows staff being threatened with what appears to be a gun – before one man leaps over the counter and intervenes.

“Staff members put their lives at risk to tackle the robber and save other staff and shoppers in the store.”

She added: “Donations big or small will be greatly accepted. Just remember ALL HEROES DONT WEAR CAPES. Thank you in advance.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection.

“He is due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Friday.
