Dramatic CCTV captures ram raid on Leeds jewellers - but it went so wrong

This is the moment a ram raider reversed into his sledgehammer wielding accomplice during a robbery in Leeds city centre.

Kieran Marshall drove a red Ford Ranger 4x4 into the front of Hyman’s Jewellers, in Call Lane, on October 25 in 2017, before John Kitchen ran in with the large hammer.

The dramatic CCTV footage (shown in the video above) captures the raid as Kitchen warned staff to stay back before he rifled through the window display and stole a Rolex watch.

Marshall saw the shop’s security shutter closing and reversed in to block it. Without realising, he knocked Kitchen down in the process in an attempt to avoid him being trapped.

At a trial in February 2018, both men were found guilty of carrying out the ram raid robbery.

West Yorkshire Police has just announced that they have also just been sentenced for who stole £1.5 million pounds worth of goods by targeting lorry drivers across the country.
