Drake ups troll game with Dell Curry jersey at the NBA Finals

Professional basketball fan-slash-sometimes rapper Drake is known for attaching himself to the best and brightest players in the NBA, sitting courtside to support whichever players he happens to be cheering for that night and, of course, being seen by millions of people worldwide.

The NBA Finals present no bigger stage for his brand of super fandom-slash-self-promotion, and he came out hard for Toronto in his native Canada by entering the arena wearing a Dell Curry jersey.

For those not in the know, before the patriarch of the Curry family tallied a solid run with the Charlotte Hornets, he played for a time in Toronto, for the Raptors.

The Milwaukee Bucks deemed Drake a nuisance in the Eastern Conference Finals, with coach Mike Budenholzer taking exception to some of his courtside behavior. When called out, Drake trolled the daughter of Wes Edens, co-owner of the Bucks.

Acquiring a Dell Curry/Toronto jersey certainly is creative. But will it get into the heads of the Warriors’ players?

Doubtful.

They’ve been here before — five times in the last fast years, in fact, and have emerged with championships four of those times. Seeking their third-straight title, even a professional troll won’t get under their skin.

If anything, the Warriors will strive to do to Drake what they did to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers after they trolled the team with a 3-1 Halloween cake following Golden State’s Finals loss in 2016: further demoralize by winning.
