Will there ever be a My Little Brony movie?
Variety reports that as part of their determination to milk every last penny from their assets entertain children the world over, Hasbro’s film division is to make a feature length My Little Pony movie.
Hasbro Studios will take the reigns of “My Little Pony,” producing and financing it in-house. It is in discussion with studios to release the film “on the broadest possible number of screens,” said Stephen Davis, president of Hasbro Studios and global entertainment and licensing for Hasbro Inc. “We’ve very excited about the potential of that movie.”
So that’s all very exciting. But here’s the blow: it’s a cartoon. Which means there is absolutely no chance of the thing being cast entirely by adult males who fantasise about being My Little Ponies.

New music: Sleater-Kinney, Gwen Stefani, Jay Rock
Jay Rock - Parental Advisory
A Werther’s Original of a hip-hop track in that, with its sporting analogies and wheezy invitations to get beaten up, reminds you of the good ol’ days of yore
Sleater-Kinney - Bury Our Friends
Today is official buzz about Sleater-Kinney day after the Riot Grrl originals revealed they’re going to release a new album (their first in a decade) next January. There’s also this track, which sounds like - er - Franz Ferdinand, but has a nice little guitar tone in it too.
Gwen Stefani - Baby Don’t Lie
With news that her new album will involved a collaboration with Pharrell, inspiring dreams of a new Hollaback Girl-like classic, Stefani has acted swiftly to deflate any excitement by releasing a track that’s all Shakira. It’s still kinda ok though

Watch Chris Rock play himself-ish
Top Five, the upcoming film starring Chris Rock and any number of other comedians (Tracy Jordan, Kevin Hart, JB Smoove) was a bit of a hit at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year (I was lucky enough to be there which is why I mention... read my review of Samuel L Jackson as the world’s wimpiest President!).
The trailer has been released for the film now and it looks funny, if a bit familiar, and not just cos Niggas in Paris gets used as a soundtrack agaaaaaain...

Drake leaks and lints
However much we may like Drake in the UK, the fascination with him and his personal habits is borderline religious in north America.
Over the weekend, there were two Drake-based items of interest, the first an apparent leak of a song from his new album From the 6. The best detail is that the leak came from a teenager in rural Georgia. Which is about as internet as you might want. You can read about that (and hear if you want to) on Stereogum.
The second Drake event involved him becoming a full-kit baller and taking to the basketball court to warm up with college side the Kentucky Wildcats. Personally, I’d be embarrassed to do that myself, you know, assuming that proficiency in one filed entitled you to claim the stage in another. Humility is hardly Drake’s thing though, unlike lint-rolling his clothes, which is. After he was caught on camera furiously getting bits and bobs off his trousers during an NBA match earlier this year, he lint rolled especially for Wildcats fans this weekend too, as you can see below.
