Drake is once again at the centre of online mockery, this time over a shirtless selfie that fans claim shows surgically enhanced abs.
The 37-year-old rapper posted a carousel of photos to Instagram on Saturday, including a shirtless mirror selfie and a video of him jogging in Texas. His caption, a cryptic line in typical Drake fashion, read:
'I'm wide awake for the nights that separate the type who get to it til they get it right from the type who just ...type.'
Instead of focusing on the introspective message, fans quickly zeroed in on Drake's sharply defined abs, which many believe are more surgeon-sculpted than gym-earned.

'BBL Drizzy' Makes a Comeback
Social media was flooded with speculation and memes almost instantly. The phrase 'BBL Drizzy', coined by Rick Ross and popularised by Kendrick Lamar, resurfaced as users mocked the rapper's suspiciously cut physique.
'Those might be the fakest abs I've ever seen,' one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
'Ordered abs from Temu and forgot to add shoulders and tri lol,' another joked.
'No shoulders, no biceps, deflated chest but extremely defined abs. Lmao,' a viral post read.

Even the jogging clip drew criticism. Viewers accused Drake of trying to make his physique appear naturally earned.
'It's the running video to try to counter the ab etching allegations for me,' one user commented.
The abs controversy is not new. It gained traction earlier this year when Kendrick Lamar called out Drake directly in 'Euphoria', rapping:
'Tell 'em where you get your abs from / V12, it's a fast one.'
Rick Ross followed with a jab in 'Champagne Moments', dubbing him 'BBL Drizzy'. Producer Metro Boomin joined in by launching the #BBLDrizzyBeatGiveaway, offering free beats to the best memes mocking Drake.
Throwback diss tracks like Pusha T's 'The Story of Adidon' are also being revisited, as fans continue to question Drake's authenticity both musically and physically.

Drake Stays Unbothered
While the memes continue, Drake has not addressed the latest round of mockery. In the past, he has denied any surgical enhancements, even joking about it with his mother in a 2023 Instagram Story: 'I would have got us a 2 for 1 deal if I went ma.'
He blamed Rick Ross for starting the rumours, but they have since taken on a life of their own.
Whether fake or real, Drake's abs are unlikely to be the last topic of conversation this summer. The rapper is set to release his solo album ICEMAN later this year and kick off a joint tour with PartyNextDoor on 11 July to promote their upcoming collaborative project $ome $exy $ongs 4 U.
For now, it seems the internet is more interested in his six-pack than his sixteens.
