Drake has predicted that not all critics will enjoy his new album, Certified Lover Boy, when it is released in January next year.
The Toronto artist announced the record, which will serve as the follow-up to 2018’s album Scorpion, in a teaser on his Instagram last month.
The clip nodded to visuals Drake used in promo for previous releases, including Take Care, Nothing Was the Same, and Dark Lane Demo Tapes.
During an Instagram Live on Sunday 8 November, Drake apparently responded to a comment from one fan who told him that his album Views was “hittin’ different” in 2020.
Views received a mixed reception upon release in 2016, while some fans were also unconvinced.
“They hated on Views just like they will CLB, but it’s music to evolve to,” Drake reportedly responded.
He released the single “Laugh Now Cry Later”, a Lil Durk collaboration which will feature on Certified Lover Boy, back in August.
Earlier this year, he teamed up with Headie One for the British rapper’s single “Only You Freestyle”, and appeared on two tracks with DJ Khaled.
