Drake posts Instagram photo thanking his mother for helping him tackle 2006 'eBay addiction'

Last year, Drake earned an estimated $39.5million and was ranked third on Forbes Hip Hop Cash Kings list. However, judging from a recent Instagram post this wasn’t always the case.

On Sunday, the Canadian rapper shared a note he apparently wrote to his mother 10 years ago with his 25.5million Instagram followers .

In the handwritten note, Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Graham thanked her for helping him with his 2006 “ebay addiction” and reassured her she will be “reimbursed fully through several methods and or means of payment”.

"Thank you for temporarily funding my music and clothes," the grateful note said.

“Ebay was the addiction back in 2006. Def come a long way and it’s safe to say I most likely settled this debt #Nothingwithoutmymom [sic]", the 29-year-old captioned the letter.

In September, Forbes estimated Drake’s 2015 tour brought him around $1million per show and his endorsements with brands including Nike and Sprite also helped him land a place on the Cash Kings list one behind Sean Combs and Jay Z.

Given that in 2016, Drake released his album Views which included the single "One Dance", which has been at the top spot of the UK charts for 14 weeks, it's more than likely he’ll be able to take care of any internet purchases for the foreseeable future.
