Drake posts first pics of adorable son Adonis and opens up about missing him

Drake has shared with Instagram followers the first snaps his adorable son Adonis.

The rapper - who initially kept his child's birth a secret - shared a string of photos showing off his curly-haired boy for the first time.

The snaps also included portraits of Drake cuddling his two-year-old and posing with the child's mother Sophie Brussaux.

Alongside the pictures, Drake wrote a lengthy caption where he admitted he couldn't wait to be back with his son and indicated that they were isolating separately due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

"I love and miss my beautiful family and friends and I can’t wait for the joyful day when we are all able to reunite," he said.

Former adult movie star Sophie welcomed their son in October 2017.

Having initially keeping the news a secret, Drake confirmed he had fathered a child from a brief fling on his 2017 album Scorpion.

On track March 14, Drake explained how Sophie fell pregnant after they slept together a couple of times.

Speaking to Rap Radar last year, Drake said he hesitated to go public with the news because he was waiting on the results of a DNA test.

"To be honest with you, I did a DNA test for my son and it came back to us and it said the DNA test got ruined in transit and they couldn’t be 100 percent sure that that was my son or not."

He added: "So, I was in a really weird pending situation where I didn’t want to go tell the world that that was my son and it wasn’t."

After accepting his fatherhood, in November 2019, Drake made his feelings clear when he shared a photograph of his son's feet to Instagram that showed Andonis wearing 'I[heart] daddy' socks.

But the rapper has opted not to share pictures of his face until today.

As he posted the snaps, Drake appeared to get philosophical as he told his followers: "What is most important for you right now is to connect to your own inner light. This will create the biggest opening of all. Trust that you have all of the power within to make this happen, and in order to do that connect to the people and things that bring you a lot of joy.

"When the mind starts to move into overthinking or fear, shift your attention right away to something bright."

The picture of Drake and Sophie with Adonis is believed to have been taken on the day of their son's second birthday party.

Last October,  God's Plan rapper Drake shared a picture of gold-coloured balloons spelling 'ADONIS' in an arc formation.

"Happy Birthday," the 32-year-old captioned the pictures.

The public display makes a marked change from how Drake originally handled the news he had a son in the press.

In 2018, rapper Pusher T released a diss track entitled The Story of Adidon, in which he claimed Drake was hiding a secret child with a porn star.

Drake then opened up about his fatherhood in album Scorpion months later.

In track Emotionless, he raps: "I wasn't hidin' my kid from the world, I was hidin' the world from my kid."

Then despite appearing to make up with Sophie, Drake sparked outrage in his latest single When To Say When as he referred to her as a 'fluke.'

In the song, released earlier this month, Drake says: "Baby mama fluke, but I love her for who she is."
