Drake releases new mixtape Dark Lane Demo Tapes: Tracklist, features and how to stream

Rapper Drake has dropped a surprise mix tape while teasing his forthcoming sixth studio album.

The “Hotline Bling” musician took to social media on Thursday night to announce the release of Dark Lane Demo Tapes, a 14-song compilation of TikTok hits, such as the viral “Toosie Slide”, old SoundCloud demos and previously leaked tracks.

The record sees Drake collaborate with artists such as Future, Playboy Carti and Chris Brown.

Sharing the news on Instagram, the 33-year-old wrote: “My brothers @oliverelkhatib@ovonoel put together alot of the songs people have been asking for (some leaks and some joints from SoundCloud and some new vibes) DARK LANE DEMO TAPES out everywhere at midnight.”

He added: “Also my 6th STUDIO ALBUM DROPPING SUMMER 2020!!! Lucky number 6.”

Drake previously dropped hints about his new album while appearing on an Instagram Live with Diddy in April, saying that he hoped coronavirus lockdown would allow him to create something special.

“I’m working on the album. I’ve been working on it for a while now,” he said. “The last time I had to sit down was when I tore my ACL and I made a great album out of that. Obviously, God has us all inside the house right now sitting down, so the amount of focus I’m able to put into this album is probably way different than it would’ve been.”

The Toronto-born rapper’s last studio album, Scorpion, was released in 2018 and featured singles “God’s Plan”, “Nice For What” and “In My Feelings”.
