St George Illawarra coach Anthony Griffin has been quietly pleased with his side's defence but knows they'll need more on Sunday against a Melbourne side that's been "running wild".
The Storm terrorised South Sydney last week in a 50-0 win, Josh Addo-Carr scoring six tries.
That followed 40-14 and 42-20 defeats of Cronulla and the Warriors respectively, the Storm managing 40 points or more in five of their past six games.
After a freshen-up on the Sunshine Coast the defending champions arrive at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium for Magic Round eyeing another scalp.
But Griffin hopes his Dragons (5-4) can slow them down.
"I'd say (they're the best attacking team) at the moment," Griffin said.
"They are lethal - Penrith are really good defensively and they have a great attacking game at the moment - but the Storm have been running wild the last few weeks.
"Last week we were pretty clean, we didn't let in a linebreak. Even though the previous month we didn't get the results, we've been pretty sound there (in defence)."
Brandon Smith's suspended while Harry Grant (hamstring) and Cameron Munster (foot) are injured and Ryan Papenhuyzen (shoulder) has been named in the reserves with Nicho Hynes again in the No.1.
Ryley Jacks will play five-eighth and Kenny Bromwich hooker as a result.
Zac Lomax (thumb) remains out for the Dragons but Mikaele Ravalawa returns from suspension on the wing and fellow winger Cody Ramsey (rib) trained on Friday and is still a chance to return after being named in the reserves.
The Dragons have scored 30 points or more in three of their last four games against the Storm.
"Any time you play the Storm it's a massive challenge; it doesn't matter who they have in their team," Griffin said.
"People thought when they lost (Cameron) Smith and (Cooper) Cronk it would make them easier to beat but they have been a top-four premiership team for 10 years now.
"We've got a few out ourselves ... had to chop and change our team so it just comes down to our team and performance because the Storm are going to be the Storm."
