Dragons' Guinness PRO14 match against Benetton postponed amid fears over supporter safety with storm forecast

The Dragons' home game against Benetton on Saturday has been postponed in the interests of supporter and staff safety.

Storm Dennis is set to batter the UK over the weekend, with conditions forecast to be worse than what Storm Ciara brought last weekend.

In a statement, the Guinness PRO14 said: "In the interests of supporter and staff safety, Dragons v Benneton has been postponed due to the extreme weather conditions forecast.

"The decision was made by tournament organisers PRO14 Rugby following consultation with Club stakeholders, the Welsh Rugby Union and officials at Benetton Rugby.

"Match tickets for the game will be valid for the rearranged match.

"PRO14 Rugby and host broadcaster Premier Sports will identify a date to accommodate the rearranged fixture. Discussions between all parties are underway and PRO14 Rugby intends to confirm the rescheduled date as soon as possible."

Newport RFC were set to play Llandovery at Rodney Parade on Sunday but that fixture has also been called off.
