Dragons' Den star Norah Casey details dating disasters, including one man who tried to pitch business idea

Dragons' Den star Norah Casey has told of her dating disasters - including one man who tried to pitch a business idea to her.

The top businesswoman said another date was a golf bore and yet another showed her pictures of his ex-wife and previous girlfriends, while talking about them incessantly.

And she warned women about the pitfalls of "midlife" dating, saying: "Ladies, if you’re going to get back on the field, be prepared to take a few knocks."

The first guy seemed normal until he looked for a good Wifi connection.

"I thought that it was a bit odd until he told me he brought along a 'deck' on his laptop to pitch his start-up to see if I’d invest.

"He lasted until after the starter," Norah wrote in Woman’s Way.

"There was the keen golfer who never stopped talking about it," she continued.

"The fact that I didn’t know anything about golf obviously made him think I wanted a lesson."

One man talked at length about his ex-wife and all his previous girlfriends, "even delving into his phone to show me a picture of them every now and then."

One tip of advice she gives to other women is: "If a man says he doesn’t like drama, generally speaking he is the one that will create all the drama."

Norah - whose husband Richard died of cancer 11 years ago - is having fun on the romantic scene now son Dara is in his 20s. She stresses not all of her dates have been bad.

"Richard and I were happily married with our son, Dara, when life had other plans," she said, admitting she thought she’d never date again afterwards.

The magazine publisher is taking a lighthearted view to being back on the dating scene: "I’m having fun meeting people and who knows what might happen."
