Dragons' Den contestant makes Touker Suleyman's blood boil with pitch

Touker Suleyman showed his frustration on Dragon's Den after a contestant revealed the truth about the businesses' finances.

Premium pasta producers Alex Savelli and Finn Lagun were seeking £75,000 in exchange for a 2.5% equity stake in ‘Pasta Evangelists’.

Their company produced a pasta home delivery service, which they claimed was of 5-star quality.

But the Dragons soon became choked up once the 'fundraising round' came into the conversation.

The pair revealed they were asking for £1.7m in a fundraiser to increase their capital.

But this wouldn't see them make a profit, in fact, it would take two years to break even.

This wound up Touker Suleyman who said: "You are taking money from other shareholders so you can lose it. You are predicting to lose £2m by the year 2020, correct?"

The contestants replied: "It will probably be more than that, around £3m to £3.5m."

Touker said: "Okay so I'm going to give you £75,000 for 2.5% and by the time I wink I'll be down to 0.5%."

The contestants clarified it would be around 1.5%.

Touker added: "You don't know me, do you? I don't get out of bed for 1.5%."

Shocked by this admission and the potential dilution of the shares they were offering, all the Dragons soon bowed out.
