Tariq Sims's 18-minute hat-trick powered the Dragons to an upset NRL elimination final victory, but the win could come at a cost as St George stars James Graham, Jack de Belin and Gareth Widdop failed to complete the match.
Sims scored his second two tries within five minutes of each other to lay the platform for the 48-18 victory over one of the NRL's form teams at their Lang Park base.
But with a rampant Souths looming next week, the Dragons will be sweating on the fitness of representative stars Graham (concussion), de Belin (ankle) and Widdop (shoulder).
It was equally punishing for the Broncos, who lost forward Joe Ofahengaue (concussion) and David Fifita (high ankle sprain) for the match.
