Hit TV show Dragon's Den is set to move its production base to Glasgow after 16 years down south.
The BBC series which began back in 2005 consists of entrepreneurs who only get three minutes to pitch their business ideas to five multi-millionaires who may be willing to invest their own cash, time and expertise to kick-start their business.
The show, which comprises of 18 series' so far, which currently has its production base in Manchester will change soon with the 19th run due to air on BBC Two in the new year. The next instalment will then be transferred to Glasgow's Pacific Quay.
Despite production moving, no decisions have been made on whether the studio recordings will follow suit, according to trade publication Broadcast.
The news comes as part of BBC Director General Tim Davie’s wider plan to relocate projects outside of London and create local jobs as part of the corporation’s 'Across the UK' strategy.
It is also said that Adeline Ramage Rooney - producer for BBC Studios’ factual entertainment team in Glasgow - will hire a number of editorial and production management personnel to work on the show, according to Deadline.
Hannah Wyatt, BBC Studios’ Managing Director for Factual Entertainment and Events Productions, said: "This is another really positive move for one of our factual entertainment jewels. I’m sure Scottish talent will bring new perspectives and ideas and our Glasgow hub is shaping up to be one of our most productive and creative bases."
