Drag Race UK star Choriza May hosting huge viewing party in Newcastle as new series launches

Newcastle queen Choriza May is hosting a huge viewing party on home turf as she makes her debut on RuPaul's Drag Race UK on Thursday night.

Spanish born Choriza is one of the queens aiming to become the UK's new drag superstar on the third series of the National Television Award nominated BBC Three show, which the nation and the world has taken to their hearts since it launched in autumn 2019.

The programme that has given us acts like Frock Destroyers and United Kingdolls, earworm hits like Break Up (Bye Bye) and UK Hun and many already iconic moments like the Davina v The Vivienne 'red wig and a silver dress' spat, is back for a new run, which will be available to stream on BBC Player from 7pm on September 23.

And, if you fancy joining Drag Idol Newcastle 2019 champion Choriza and other well known drag faces from the city to watch the first episode, Choriza will be at a massive watch party at city centre club Powerhouse on Thursday night.

Choriza will be joined at the party by Gladys Duffy and Travisty, who will both be there every week, while Choriza herself will be there for some but not all of the events.

Choriza May, from Newcastle, will feature in the third series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK (BBC / WORLD OF WONDER)

Tickets are £7.50 or you can buy a season pass for £60, both online from Venueserve.

A Facebook teaser promises: "We have some amazing special guests across the series - so keep your eyes peeled! Doors open at 7PM, with the show playing out right in front of you from 8PM on Powerhouse's big screen!

"Included in your ticket is FREE entry to Powerhouse after the show - BARGAIN! "

Reacting being in the cast of Drag Race UK season 3, Choriza took to Instagram to post: "Hola! So this happened! @dragraceukbbc is about to get spicy!

"I couldn't be more proud to represent Newcastle and my homeland Spain on the next series of Drag Race UK! Feeling all the emotions right now."
