Drag Race UK: Lawrence Chaney hits out at 'game-playing' fellow Scot Ellie Diamond

Lawrence Chaney hit out at “friend and sister” Ellie Diamond and accused her of 'game-playing' in tonight’s episode of Drag Race UK.

Dundee queen Ellie, 22, won this week’s Masc4Masc Singer with her performance of Ru Paul's Kitty Girl and was tasked with choosing the running order of their stand-up comedy show – putting her biggest critic A'Whora first, herself second, followed by the "strongest comedians" Bimini and Lawrence in third and fourth and Welsh queen Tayce in the final spot.

The move appeared to be payback for the criticism she had faced for being the only contestant in the Top Five without a RuPeter Badge and she had earlier said she “felt underestimated” by the other queens.

But Lawrence, 23, was not impressed and said it was a "real kick in the teeth" to be put behind Bimini, her comedy rival.

She added that everyone would “struggle” in the positions offered by Ellie and lashed out when she asked her if she was okay with the running order.

Lawrence blasted: “Do not ask us if we’re okay. If you’re going to play the f*****g game then f*****g tick away your sheet and that’s all good. Don’t ask if we’re alright. Because that’s like, ‘I can change it’ but you’re not gonna.”

Speaking with A‘Whora the next day, the Glaswegian said: “i’m still really annoyed about that order. I woke up fuming. The order does no one any justice."

A’Whora agreed, replying: “I hope there’s some good karma in this world.”

In an exchange following the comedy challenge, Ellie confessed to the other contestants she felt “horrible” about her decision – but Lawrence was having none of it.

She said: "‘I don't know how much I believe that. You tried to set me up. You tried to set every single person up. Don’t sit there and be like, ‘oh I was tearing myself up.’

“You didn’t even care that putting me after Bimini could be a huge risk. I’m really hurt by it actually.”

Lawrence said in a piece to camera: "Ellie and I are meant to be friends and sisters but now she's pitting one against someone else? No."

We don't want to give away much more, but you can catch up with RuPaul's Drag Race on BBC 3 and iPlayer.
