Draft Wire: team needs and top targets for Vikings

The Vikings have 12 draft picks to potentially fill starting positions, and our friends at Draft Wire recently broke down Minnesota’s outlook.

Draft Wire listed the biggest needs for the team as wide receiver, cornerback and edge rusher. I’d also throw offensive line in there, but the Vikings have had bigger offseason losses at the positions Draft Wire mentioned.

The Vikings did release guard Josh Kline this offseason, though, and will likely need to replace him in the draft.

Draft Wire wrote out a list of the top draft targets for Minnesota, which included: LSU wideout Justin Jefferson, Baylor wideout Denzel Mims, LSU corner Kristian Fulton, TCU corner Jeff Gladney and Iowa defensive end A.J. Epenesa.

Among those three position groups, Minnesota will have some options about what to focus on in the first round. Will the team replace Everson Griffen in the first round? Or will it focus on a potential Stefon Diggs replacement? It could also fill the void that was left by both starting corners leaving in free agency. Only time will tell.
