Draft Wire’s mock predicts Seahawks trade with Colts in 1st round

The Seahawks have only four picks in this year’s NFL draft, one in the first, third, fourth and fifth rounds. Seattle traded its third, sixth and seventh-round selections for Duane Brown, Brett Hundley and Shalom Luani, respectively.

In his NFL combine edition and latest mock draft, Luke Easterling of Draft Wire has the Seahawks trading their first-round pick – No. 21 overall – to the Colts for the No. 26 overall selection and a third-rounder.

With the 26th pick, Easterling projects the Seahawks draft Alabama safety Deionte Thompson. In his first mock of the offseason without a trade, Easterling originally had the safety to Seattle at No. 21.

“After moving back and adding a third-round selection to help ease the loss of their original second-round pick, the Seahawks still land a dynamic playmaker to replace Earl Thomas,” Easterling writes. “Thompson still needs some refinement, but all the physical tools are there.”

With its additional third rounder via Indianapolis – No. 89 overall – Easterling predicts Seattle will select offensive lineman Michael Deiter out of Wisconsin.
