Draft Wire names Kristian Fulton the steal of the Titans’ draft

The Tennessee Titans graded out well with most networks for their picks in the 2020 NFL Draft.

But while things were playing out in the event, many were baffled when the team took former Georgia offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson over LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton in the first round.

But general manager Jon Robinson knew exactly what he was doing.

Fulton, originally expected to be a first-rounder, was still available by the time the Titans were set to pick in the second round, and they landed him with the No. 61 overall pick.

That alone should indicate to you that Fulton could potentially go down as a major steal, and Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling recently listed him as such.

Fulton was an impact player in the competitive SEC, forcing the highest incompletion rate (29.3%) in two years as a starter.

And he’s looking forward to making his presence known in a similar way for the Titans while working with the likes of Adoree’ Jackson and Malcolm Butler.

“They had a great defense all-around,” Fulton said of the Titans. “They have some great defensive backs, great safeties there. I feel like that’s going to help me a lot, make it as easy as possible. There’s a lot of experience there.”

It will be interesting to see just what Fulton can do within a secondary that will have to make up for the void of Logan Ryan’s departure.
