Draft pick details of trade between Packers and Seahawks

For the second year in a row, the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks completed a trade during the first round of the draft.

This year, the Packers sent the 30th overall pick and two fourth-round picks (114, 118 overall) to the Seahawks for the 21st overall pick, which GM Brian Gutekunst used on Maryland safety Darnell Savage.

Last year, the Packers sent picks at No. 27, No. 76 and No. 186 to the Seahawks for No. 18 – which turned into cornerback Jaire Alexander – and No. 248.

The draft trade chart suggests the Packers got the slightly better end of the deal.

The 21st overall pick is worth 800 points. No. 30, 114 and 118 are worth 744 points.

In our draft preview, we suggested the Packers could send No. 30 and No.75 to the Seahawks for No. 21 and No. 159, but this deal is better for Green Bay. Clearly, the Seahawks were motivated to move down and accumulate more picks on the third day of the draft.

The Packers now hold picks at No. 44, No. 75, No. 150, No. 185, No. 194 and No. 226.

One thing to note: The Packers used a pick acquired from trading Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to the Washington Redskins last October to move up and get Savage, who will likely replace him at safety.
