Dr Hilary says doctors and nurses are being told to 'keep out' of neighbourhoods

Dr Hilary has revealed that some doctors and nurses are being told to "keep out" of neighbourhoods after working the frontline amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Lorraine Kelly was left horrified by the TV doctor's comments and he said that they had returned home to find the stickers on their cars.

The pair had been talking about the British public's reaction to the NHS, which has included clapping on Thursday nights.

He said with a smile: "It's little things like that that make me proud to be British."

However he shockingly added: "Because I know in other countries, doctors and nurses who are working on the frontline are coming home and finding their cars with stickers on saying 'We don't want you here, you'll bring the virus to our neighbourhood.'"

Lorraine was gobsmacked, exploding: "What?!"

"Absolutely," he replied.

"I'm absolutely serious," Dr Hilary continued. "And it's not happening here, we've got the opposite here.

"Thursday night clapping, bringing food to doctors and nurses in hospital, people being generous.

"Everyone can do their little bit."

Lorraine still couldn't believe it and gasped: "I'm really shocked by that."

"It shocked me," Dr Hilary said. "But I've seen it."
