Dr Hilary Jones took aim at Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary on Good Morning Britain this morning as 40 per cent of flights resumed in the UK.
Appearing on the show via video link, he told Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan coming out of lockdown was a 'compromise'.
Dr Hilary appeared shocked by "loopholes" in the interview, with scenes of packed flights on Wednesday prompting the doctor to issue a warning over air travel.
Addressing the resumption of flights, Dr Hilary detailed the problems with travel abroad, telling Piers Morgan and co-presenter Susanna his thoughts on July 1.
"A wedding is a big life event and you can have 30 guests and that is it indoors," he said.
"So receptions are not permitted currently.
"I suppose the thinking is, and I do not make the guidelines, if you are at a wedding you are likely to be more intimate.
"You want to dance, you want to hug, you want to drink alcohol."
Addressing the specific issues around aircraft, he told the presenters.
"I listened to Michael O'Leary's interview and I just thought of so many loopholes in what he was saying.
"The hepafilters on airplanes do not filter out the virus - the virus is too small.
"People are not socially distancing, they are removing their masks to have a drink of tea, or coffee, or something else.
"He did not mention toilets at all. We know the virus can be transmitted not just through respiratory means, but also through the oral-fecal route.
"He did not mention hands touching seats, armrests."
"It is a little bit of a compromise," he said. "We either come out lockdown and risk more cases, or we stay in lockdown, as they have in New Zealand, and face no new cases at all.
"It is a choice."
