Dr Hilary Jones responded to fears over the safety of eating takeaways amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The TV doctor, 66, appeared on Good Morning Britain today as he addressed concerns about eating food from restaurants.
Host Ben Shephard, who is covering for Piers Morgan at the moment, probed him on the query from a viewer.

Dr Hilary replied: "Provided you can pick up a takeaway without coming into close contact with anyone else and provided you can still socially [distance], picking up food is perfectly ok.
"People have to eat and restaurants need to be kept going.

"So provided there are no queues, take your food home, take it out of the package, throw the packaging away, wash your hands, heat the food up again to over 60 degrees and that should be pretty risk free."
This comes after McDonald's announced that it would be reopening 15 of its locations to run a delivery service.
The decision on which locations were reopened was made based on where they are in relation to the distribution centres.
A spokesman for McDonald's told Mirror Online : “These 15 restaurants were chosen for their proximity to our distribution centre as we slowly but safely seek to reopen our restaurants and restart our supply chain."
