Dr Hilary Jones' replacement on Good Morning Britain confirmed

Good Morning Britain viewers were surprised this morning [July 20] when they tuned in and saw some new faces on the ITV show.

Last week, Dr Hilary Jones announced he was taking a break from the ITV show and today his replacement was reavealed.

The GMB doctor has been on GMB and Lorraine daily since the beginning of March, keeping viewers updated on the news surrounding coronavirus.

He has often been coined the voice of calm and both fans and ITV presenters thanked Dr Hilary for his help and advice throughout the crisis during his last show on Friday, reports The Mirror.

But who is Dr Hilary's replacement? On Monday morning his absence was officially confirmed as Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard introduced Sarah Jarvis.

The new doctor will be taking over for the net "few weeks" Ben confirmed.

Kate declared: "Dr Hilary is having a break."

Ben added: "Hilary is off, he's got his feet up. Well deserved, Sarah is picking up the slack."

Dr Hilary has yet to confirm a date for his return, with him hinting he hadn't decided when he would be back.

He said "at the moment" it would be two weeks, while Ben said "a few weeks" in the latest episode.

It follows hosts Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan stepping down as hosts until September.

They too have been on the show most mornings since March, alongside weather presenter Laura Tobin.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
