Dr Hilary Jones issued urgent new coronavirus advice on today's Good Morning Britain.
GMB's resident doctor confessed to making some mistakes on Thursday's show while thinking on his feet.
Dr Hilary, who has been tirelessly helping to answer viewers' questions over the last few weeks, admitted he had been "bombarded" with information.
He told presenters Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard that he wanted to clarify some points he made on newspaper deliveries and child immunisations.
Dr Hilary said: "There's so much info coming through on this new virus. We didn’t know anything about just a few weeks ago. Everything is moving so fast.
"Yesterday I was thinking on my feet bombarded with information and I want to clarify a couple of things that were erroneous yesterday."
Dr Hilary confessed he had made a "flippant remark" about newspapers, so asserted that they are an essential service to deliver crucial information.
He said: "Newspapers are an essential service for people who need to be update on current affairs and news and be entertained.
"Also for public health information right now it's important people have access to information through newspapers.
Dr Hilary revealed it was "absolutely" safe to carry on with a paper round as there is social distancing.
He added: "It's possible to deliver those newspapers safely. If someone physically picks them up and delivers them to a doorstep or letterbox it's safe."
Good Morning Britain's Health Editor also clarified his advice on taking children to get their usual immunisations.
Dr Hilary said: "The other thing I said is child immunisations are continuing throughout this outbreak as normal. Routine child immunisations will be carrying on in a clinic that is safe."
Dr Hilary, who revealed he had tested negative for coronavirus while demonstrating how a test kit works on Thursday's show, also pointed out that social distancing was now being adhered to.
He said: "From what I observe on the street it's much, much better. People are keeping their distance in the shops. Just driving here and back you can see people are behaving much more responsibly now.
"Today after Mr Sunak’s information yesterday on the self-employed - much quieter, less people driving now.
"People knowing they will get their 80% salary, they are staying at home and not taking the risk of going out. Obeying the guidance."
In a final point during his Q&A, Dr Hilary had words of comfort for people who have lost their sense of taste and smell.
He added: "All the evidence is it will come back. We're still learning about how the virus works and which parts of the body it effects. It is a symptom people reporting.
"There's no reason to think it won’t come back. It's just going to take time."
