Dr Hilary issues new coronavirus advice after clarifying earlier comment

This Morning Britain regular Dr Hilary has clarified remarks he made on the TV show after saying he had been 'bombarded' with coronavirus information.

The doctor wanted to clarify comments he had made on the ITV show on Thursday about newspaper deliveries and child immunisations.

On a day when Boris Johnson and health secretary Matt Hancock were both revealed to have tested positive for coronavirus, it seems that keeping abreast of a constantly changing situation had caught out the medical expert.

He told viewers on Friday that he had been "thinking on his feet" the previous day.

He now wanted to explain that routine child immunisations, which he had said are carrying on as normal, are taking place in clinics that are safe.

And he wanted to clarify that newspaper deliveries are safe too.

He said: "Newspapers are, of course, an essential service for people who need to be updated on current affairs and news and for entertainment."

When presenter Kate Garraway pointed out that not everyone has the internet, while some prefer just papers, he was keen to make clear that newspapers can be delivered safely without any contact between people.
