Dr Hilary explains what can't open on June 21 in 'selective easing'

Good Morning Britain's resident GP Dr Hilary Jones says it won't be safe for everything to reopen in England on June 21 - the date the Prime Minister has set for the last stage of lockdown lifting.

But Dr Hilary told GMB this morning he wants to see things get 'back to normal and has called for 'selective easing'.

He said there are steps that can be taken on Monday, June 21, without too much risk.

It comes as Covid cases rise across the majority of the country, fuelled by the Delta variant first seen in India.

Dr Hilary said: "I'm in favour on June 21 of selective easing of restrictions."

He added: "There's a big difference between going to a restaurant where the business is very careful for people to wear masks as they go to their table, sit down and there's a small group of people that know each other having a nice lunch and a small glass of wine and 200 people dancing in a nightclub with no ventilation."

He said: "I want people to get back to normal, and it's good for their mental health I know that. I don't want to be Dr Killjoy."
