(Picture: Getty Images)Dr Dre’s eldest daughter revealed she is homeless and ‘living out of a car’ – despite claiming she’s begged her father for help.
LaTanya Young, 38, works three jobs: a delivery driver for DoorDash and Uber Eats and as a warehouse assembler, where she earns $15 an hour.
She told the Daily Mail she can’t afford to rent an apartment in California and is now living in a rental car. “People label me as a millionaire’s daughter so they don’t understand why I’m working. It makes me want to crawl under a rock,” she said.
“I’m homeless and I’ve been reaching out to my dad for help”, she said, though she stated that her children are staying with a friend. “I have friends and family that will let us come back and forth, but the majority of the time, I’m living out of my car.”
The single mother-of-four claimed she hadn’t received financial support from her producer father in 18 months. She also tells the publication how she hasn’t seen him in a further 18 years.
“He used to help with our rent and gave an allowance, but he told us he wouldn’t do anything anymore. I’m out on the streets”, she said.
Dre’s daughter alleged she has to go through his team to contact her father. She added, “His lawyer has said that my dad doesn’t want to help me because I’ve spoken about him in the press. I feel like I’m damned if I do. I’m damned if I don’t. I’m just trying to communicate with him and see if he wants to talk to his grandkids.”
She then pointed out how her children have never met their grandfather – thought her eight-year-old, D’Andre, is named after him. “I’m just trying to communicate with him and see if he wants to talk to his grandkids.
My kids are old enough to know who he is. They are in shock that he doesn’t want anything to do with them”, she said.
