Dr Alex George confessed he's facing the hardest time after his brother Llŷr's death.

His brother Llŷr took his own life aged 20 in July this year.

A&E hero's Alex confided in fans about his heartache in his new series of his podcast The Waiting Room which was released Thursday.

The doctor gushed he was "so proud" of his brother and affectionately said he would always be in his thoughts.

He told fans: "I've been going through the hardest time in my personal life after losing my brother Llŷr to mental health in July.

"He was only 19 with a career in medicine ahead of him.

"I was so so proud of him. I miss him so much and he is always in my thoughts."

Fans have flooded Alex's inbox with support and reached out to him following his family's tragedy.

The Love Island star thanked his fans for their overwhelming kindness at this difficult time.

He went on: "Your support has been overwhelming, your kindness and your care, and I just want to take a moment to acknowledge this. Thank you so much, you have been amazing...

"To anyone who is struggling please reach out and ask for help. There is always hope of a better day."

The fourth series of his podcast will explore his experiences with fighting coronavirus on the NHS frontline.

Recently, he announced he was going to be leaving his job at Lewisham's A&E department where he worked devotedly for five years.

Dr Alex has plans to train as a GP following his experience in the emergency department.
