Dozens of quakes shake Guatemala, leaving at least four dead

Authorities said two men died when falling rocks crushed their vehicle in Escuintla, a woman was later found buried under debris near the capital, and the body of a 13-year-old boy was recovered in the Sacatepéquez area.

The tremors, with magnitudes between 3.0 and 5.7, triggered landslides, evacuations and widespread fear.

In the town of Palin, families slept in makeshift shelters after homes were destroyed.

President Bernardo Arévalo visited Santa Maria de Jesús on Wednesday to inspect damage, saying the impact on infrastructure had been significant.
