Dozens of properties without electricity after power cut

Dozens of homes around Portishead are currently without power, according to Western Power Distribution.

A 'low voltage incident' was reported in the BS20 area earlier this morning (April 1), and 71 properties have been impacted.

The incident is smaller and more localised than a 'high voltage incident' that tends to affect larger and wider areas.

The following postcodes are currently affected by the power cut. These include BS20 8BS BS20 8BP, BS20 8BW, BS20 8BN, BS20 8BT, BS20 8DA.

Western Power Distribution hopes to have power back up by 3.30pm today.

The power cut comes at a time of lockdown across the country.

The number of confirmed people infected with Covid-19 in Bristol has risen to more than 100.

Nationally, a total of 1,651 people who have tested positive for coronavirus in England have died, NHS England said yesterday (Tuesday, March 31).

That figure has risen sharply by 367 from Monday's figure of 1,284. A 19-year-old with no underlying health conditions was among those who recently died with Covid-19 in England.
