'Dozens' of cops descend on Scots street after reports of protesting outside property

Cops have descended on a Scots residential street tonight after reports of people protesting outside a house.

Officers from Police Scotland raced to River Street and Haugh Street in Falkirk just before 8pm this evening, January 19.

The nation-wide force received a report that residents were congregating out a property in the town.

Locals in the area say at least four vans and two cars are currently on the scene.

One eyewitness told the Daily Record: “I heard sirens and next minute my living room was light up by flashing lights.”

“I looked out the window and loads of cops were running down the street.”

A statement from Police Scotland read: "Around 7:50pm on Tuesday 19 January 2021, police received a report of people protesting outside a property in River Street, Falkirk.

"Officers are currently in attendance and the crowd is dispersing. Enquiries are ongoing."
