Dozens of cannabis plants found at house in Tameside - they were even growing in the kitchen

A cannabis farm has been discovered at a house in Ashton-under-Lyne .

Photos shared by police show even the kitchen had been converted, with portable radiators on the floor surrounding the plants and wires dangling dangerously from the ceiling.

Officers raided the property on Kings Road in Ashton St Michael's on Wednesday morning.

They found around 70 plants in various stages of maturity being grown across three floors.

The electricity supply had also been tampered with.

Police say the house was empty when they got there and no arrests have yet been made.

Enquiries are ongoing.

GMP Ashton Inspector Lee Derbyshire said: "Cannabis farms remain an illegal hazard to other residents, commonly with links to organised crime, and we will continue to target them.

"Anyone with concerns about such a premises please contact us via 101/GMP website livechat or anonymously via Crimestoppers."
