Dozen police cars race to Argyle Street Wetherspoons

Around a dozen police cars raced to a disturbance at a Wetherspoons in the city centre.

Officers were spotted outside the The Sir John Moore in Argyle Street this evening – with images showing several vans and cars outside the premises.

It is understood a man kicked off after refusing to leave and staff called the police for assistance, reports the Daily Record.

It is unclear why such a large number of police vehicles were sent to the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "I can confirm a 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a disturbance at a premises in Argyle Street in Glasgow.

"Officers were made aware of the incident at 8.10pm."
