The actress, 43, showed off her baby bump as she walked the red carpet with her movie producer husband, 37, at Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square.

Dockery – who plays Lady Mary Crawley in Downton Abbey – wore an off-the-shoulder floor-length blue gown to the glittering event.

Other high-profile cast members including Hugh Bonneville, Jim Carter and Dominic West turned out for the world premiere.

After six series and two films, the beloved period drama is set to wrap up with the third and final film, that will be released on September 12.

The film sees the family and their staff stepping into the 1930s and guiding Downton Abbey into the future.

Set in 1930, Dockery's Lady Mary finds herself shunned by society due to her divorce, while Hugh Bonneville's Lord Grantham grapples with financial troubles.

Douglas Reith, who plays the Baron Merton, told the PA news agency that the films honour the legacy of the series.

“I think this one particularly, just going full circle and bringing it to a wonderful close, is right,” he said.

Asked if it is truly the end of Downton Abbey, Reith said: “I have not the foggiest clue, but I would think it probably is because we’ve gone down to the 1930s now.

“I think the old ones like me, I mean, we’d all be dead. Probably should be now already.”

Producer Liz Trubridge added: “I’ve learned never to say never, but I do think this is the final one in this incarnation.”
